a virgin to territory
these were taken on a trip to lisbon in september 2019, we climbed up atop some outlooks and plunged deep into some castles and then spent time at a monastery. inside the monastery there was a lot of gold. the lines and quartiers were sectioned off mathematically and if you looked outside and across this monastery you'd find a ship symbolizing the colonialism which became in portugal, the port of lisbon where the boys and their boats would signal down ocean and deep into africa with their stench and their fucking; carrying a murderous religion, an obfuscation, a becoming of itself
we take ourselves back to observe the globalized space, the cultures reflected boomerang portugal back to itself if that means with disdain or a misplaced gratitude for progress
